 An Open day of the Commission for Interethnic Relations from the municipality of Debar was held on 16.06.2011 (12:00-13:00h). The Open day was an opportunity to promote the ‘Guide for the Commissions for Interethnic Relations’, and the ‘Conclusions from the conference ‘How to make the CIRs more efficient’, emerging from the project ‘Model for efficient communication between the Commissions for Interethnic Relations and the citizens (MEC )’.

The Open Day of the Commission for Interethnic Relations from the municipality of Gostivar will be organized on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, 13:00-14:00h at the premises of the municipal building of Gostivar.
The Open day will be organized in order to hold a meeting, establish contact and introduction between the Commission members and the citizens from the municipality of Gostivar. With this meeting, the interested citizens will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the work of the Commission for Interethnic Relations. The citizens will also have an opportunity to inform the competent institutions about their problems and needs on a local level in order to try and find a solution for them.

The third open day was held on February 4, 2011, 11:00-12:00h in the office of the Commission for Interethnic Relations in the municipality of Chair. The open day was attended by three CIR members: the representative of the Albanian community, Mukades Hajdari, the representative of the Bosnian community, Vehbija Rizvanovikj and the representative of the Macedonian community, Vasil Peovski. The event was also attended by a representative of the Metamorphosis Foundation, a representative of CA Common Values and the CIR coordinator, Lejla Alilovska.

A public meeting on the topic ‘Mechanisms for participation of the minority ethnic communities in public policy making’, will be organized on January 27, 2011 (11:00-12:00h)
The public event will be organized in order to improve the status of ethnic communities in the municipality of Gostivar, raise the awareness for greater participation in the decision making processes on a local level and improve the relations and cooperation between the ethnic communities and the municipality of Gostivar
